Want to building empathic relationships with staff and students but not sure how to go about it? The Circle of Power and Respect (CPR) is a daily, whole-group gathering designed to build community. CPR's format of greeting, sharing, activity, and daily news is a friendly ritual that builds social skills and trusting relationships that facilitate learning. As an assistant principal, Ryan piloted Circles of Power and Respect at Carter G. Woodson Middle school in Hopewell, Virginia.
